Bullet Proof Fabricating Storage Panels

Hey guys! I just received these storage panels from BPF and I figured I'd share my thoughts on them. I'm not affiliated with BPF at all - just thought it might be helpful for anyone looking to buy storage panels.

Overall I think they're awesome and look great!

Here's where I got them: BPF 2010-2019 4RUNNER STORAGE PANELS

With that 15% off deal right now...I paid $275 after the shipping cost to San Diego. I ordered them on Jan 10th and they arrived on the 18th, so not too long to wait (although I was still impatient - free 2 day shipping has spoiled me haha)

They arrived well packaged - no dents or scratches.

Install was straight forward...they fit like a glove and I was done in 20 minutes.

FYI - The instructions to install them are online and NOT sent with the panels. I spent a couple minutes looking for any paperwork and then remembered seeing the link to the instructions on the website.

My one major complaint with these is the bottle opener:

I have no need for it but there's no option to remove it since it's riveted on. Not a big deal, but the thing is freaking sharp! Seriously, it's like a fishhook. They provide a flimsy piece of rubber to cover it, but it doesn't stay on very well. I would have preferred an option to remove the opener entirely. I plan on grinding it down to prevent getting snagged on it at some point.

Also - These panels are aluminum and not steel. I have no idea if that makes them better or worse than steel panels. But these feel solid so I'm not too worried about it - especially since I don't plan to mount anything too heavy to them. Just don't snug down the locking nuts too tight - I did that on one of them and imprinted the washer into the panel. Luckily it was after I had confirmed the fitment on the window so I didn't have to move it.

Overall I'm very happy with these!

And FYI - This isn't meant to be a comparison to other panel options out there...just wanted to share my input on these particular ones. I think it's awesome that our 4Runners are getting attention from multiple businesses!

Grind or drill the rivet heads off and you should be able to remove the opener.

My wife got me the BPF panels too. The quality of the product is good. I have 3rd row seating and am having issues keeping the panel off the rear pillar. BPF sent me new spacers, I can not yet comment if they correct the issue or not. I will install later this week.
It looks like yours dont even come close to touching the pillar.

Stole Rago's design and idea with the bottle opener, puts a fishhook on it and rivets it on... WTF?

There has to be something different in the rear pillar plastic design on the 3rd row. I’ve got a rago panel and it did the same thing.

Yeah, I have the third row and mine just barely touch the rear pillar. If you play with it you can get it not to touch, but it's damn close

Bought these a few months back, have absolutely no problems.

Full suite medical on driver's side, recovery/firearm mount/water bottle carrier on passenger's. Love these things, and the fact that they were so much cheaper, even aluminum.

Flex Seal tape, artistically applied, should also do the trick if you dont want to grind it and possibly make a mess of the plastic if you slip or something.

The bottle opener is a dumbass touch.

Drill the rivets out and it will come right off.

Bullet Proof Fabricating Storage Panels

Thought I should update this since this thread came up when I was searching for feedback on this particular molle system. The bottle opener is no longer riveted, instead you have a set of screws if you decide you want to mount it. With that being said, I have no complaints with the PBF molle system. I think it looks great and the quality is top notch.....I've purchased a lot of RAGO items prior (roof rack, molle center console w/ bridge, and other accessories), but I'm glad I went with PBF this time around.
