Finish damage to stereo dash unit - ideas needed
Hey everyone, a friend of mine sold his 4runner and gave me his aftermarket stereo unit. Unfortunately it wasn't packed up well and the drive from Atl to Columbia, the unit was vibrating against the box it was in and rubbed the finish in some areas.
Any suggestions on how to repair something like this?
Apparently I also needed suggestions on having pics that aren't giant and annoying.

Contact this fellow and find out what paint he used that matched the rest of the dash.
Once you find out, post it in your thread so others will know as well.

Painting should be an option. For reference, several people have painted aftermarket Metra or Scosche dash kits. Others have taken them to body shops for paint matching. Apologies am on a tablet and am all thumbs so difficult to search for those now.
Edit:
@ cb1111
really good recent good example.

I thought that having to repaint was the most likely option, but was hoping there was a faster alternative. Now that I clicked through that other thread I also realize this dash unit doesn't even match as he states.

Looks like the rest of the interior now instead of gloss black plastic. Did the center console and trim around the climate control knobs as well.

I did see on book face, covers for it. One of those Chinese places. Didn't really pay attention because I just finished wrapping everthing. Son of a B. Found it. Kind of pricey, but it pissed me off after learning how to do the wrap.

This is the paint I used. Slightly darker than the original.

Given the opportunity (it's already off), I would hydrodip that using the gray to match with some crazy black pattern. why not?
