Well, after almost 10 years of ownership I have moved on

I never thought the day would come when I got rid of my 14 4Runner that I've had since new. It was just where I wanted it and it only had 53k miles on it. We just happened to ride out to the dealer to see what they had in stock and we happened upon this:

It was already pre-sold but the buyer backed out and it was available. I never thought I would ever buy a TRD Pro, let alone a Sequoia but we traded the 4Runner and our 17 Tundra Limited in for it and got the numbers where we wanted, so everything just fell into place.

Here's the 4Runner, traded on Mon, sold on Sat.

I took a few things off of it before trading, so I'll be listing them in the classifieds soon.

Can't blame you, that looks nice! I would love to have one of those. I just can't justify getting rid of the 4runner when it is still almost like new.
 
I hope you enjoy the new rig.

If it was me, I think I'd rather go to a GX550, but I've just never been one for the size of a Sequoia.
 
Congratulations. Yeah, let us know how your ownership experience goes. I'm particularly interested in the roominess of the third row seating.
 
It is a beast but we love the size, plus we were used to the Tundra. We wanted something full size for our two bullmastiffs, the cargo area is not ideal but we'll make it work. My brother in law has the same but in white and they love it. They have 15k miles on it with no issues, hopefully that continues.

So far I'm loving it, especially all the tech that neither one of our trucks had and I already ordered a lift kit and got a quote for 35"s.

up here in canada they are listed for over $100K new. absolutely insane, but I agree they do have a nice look to them. the front end I feel could have a better approach angle but overall I like the sequoia far better than the new land cruiser and 4runner

Yeah they are ridiculous, they wanted $15k over sticker but I didn't pay that. My brother in law paid $10k over for his, sucker:crazy:

The front end rake is annoying especially with in being a Pro but that'll get rectified in a few weeks.

I have a 23' limited sequioa in my family and love it but some major concerns.

What year is yours? Just want to be super clear that these trucks have the same engine that was recently recalled in the 22-23 Tundra and LX. 100k engines being replaced under warranty due to metal shavings in the block which cause main bearing failures.

They haven't recalled any sequoias or hybrid Tundras / LXs yet and I dont want to over-speculate but its something to look out for. The online speculation here is that none of the hybrids have been recalled yet because if the engine fails you still have the electric motor to power you off of the road. I believe all the new sequoias come standard with a hybrid now.

I feel the same way. We bought our 2017 Pro new, thought we were keeping it forever. It’s just shy of 157k miles now. We just picked up a 2022 GX460 in Nori Green and it’s time for the 4R to part ways. Bitter sweet sale for me. Congrats on the new ride!

It's a 24 and yeah I'm aware of the potential issue but just like the gas pedal issue from years ago, I think it's a bit inflated. I'm gonna do my first oil change at 1,000 miles to hopefully drain out any debris from break in. It's under warranty and if it turns out to be crap, I'll trade it in before it runs out.
 
Sounds like one of those situations where everything lined up! How are you liking the Sequoia compared with the 4Runner?
