88' 4runner with 53,000ori. miles Whats she worth?

I found what I believe to be a miracle...a 88' 4runner...original owner...with 53,000 miles on her....the mileage is documented. V6 loaded...yada...yada...yada

Its relatively clean except for a slight rust hole above the rear pass quarter.

I can get her for $2500-$2700....other than the rear quarter...she doesn't need much if anything else. I plan on cuttin gout the bad metal and repainting the whole truck.....so with that said.....

What I need is your guys opinions....Is she worth the $$???

I sold my 87 SR5 that was in mint condition with some mods and 87k miles on the odometer for $6,500. about a year and a half ago. They are getting harder to come by in nice shape. That sounds like a fair price to me.
 
You are located in the rust belt, like I am. The biggest problem will be frame rust. They rust from the inside out, so by the time you can see it, it's bad. The best thing to do is take a small hammer and go over the entire frame.

Has the Steering Relay Rod service campaign been performed?

The V6 is known for Head Gasket problems, what's it's history on that ?

Do it, Dont even hesitate. For that price and the milage you cannot find another one unless you live in Cali. Buy it, fix the rust wherever it is, do a two stage oil treatment after a good steaming and pressure washing of the floor and frame, rust proof it and enjoy one of the best vehicles ever created. the recall for the 3VZ is for engines with less than 200K on them from what I know and you-re still in there. Even if it blows its cheap to rebuild and drive for at least another 200K. My 87 was stolen 3 months ago with a big list of modifications and I was in Finland and had also taken theft off my insurance policy. All my tools, brand new tires, windshield, etc etc were stolen. Good luck with the truck if you decide to buy it. I wouldn't hesitate though for that price and 1 owner.
