For those SoCal peeps: Potential Ocotillo Wells shut down?!

I was getting off work and caught a quick bit of this as I was walking out...

For those that have not heard, apparently a few environmentalist groups are wanting to (lawsuit already filed) shut down ocotillo wells SRVA and restrict its usage to trails only... will be interesting to see how this pans out.

...and then after they get the open riding shut down, which is all they claim they want, then they'll use that momentum to get the trails shut down, too--this is how these people always do things. Just like the gun argument--they go for the fringe stuff first (assault-style weapons), claiming that will make them happy...then they get inspired and go for the next level, and so on, and so on. Guaranteed not a single person pushing for these closures has ever taken a vehicle off road and experienced the fun out there. Like the guy in the article said, there are millions of acres that are off-limits and have all the flora-n-fauna you could wish for--why does EVERY SINGLE SPOT need to be protected? This country is big enough to keep some areas open just for playtime.
