The Middle East has appreciated the ruggedness and reliability of Toyota trucks for decades, long before the current situation -- same thing in Africa and other regions with rough roads and brutal terrain.

If some people think there's any connection between Toyota and terrorists deeper than that, then they need to loosen their tinfoil hats a little.

I know when I was there we looked into their logistics and saw a vast majority were "acquired" via five finger discount. Anyone that's been to that part of the world knows there are Hilux's, Land Cruisers and other toyotas everywhere so it's not really hard to fathom. I know we saw a ton of ford trucks as well like f150s and f350s that were likely stolen from when they invaded northern and western iraq. Humvees are also a favorite of ISIL

When I was active duty we called that line of vehicles a "target rich environment." Think the Basra road during Desert Storm. Why there hasn't been an A-10 or an F-15E smoking those vehicles repeatedly I'll never understand. If CNN can find them, surely the US military can as well.

My favorite part is how the Iraqi military abandoned 40 M1A1 tanks which were then taken by ISIS. The US government has now decided to send this same Iraqi military 175 more M1A1 tanks. D

I will tell you how it happens.

It simple- They roll into town go a the dealer and steal them. I watched it happen before I left Iraq in 2013.....

People would hold the owners for ransom if they didn't comply.
