Highlander?

Hey guys,
I'm new to the Toyota scene in general and I have an 06 SR5 V8. I was just in the new members section on this forum where someone is selling a mid-2000's Highlander. I'm not interested but just out of curiosity, do people turn them into nice "rigs" too? Or are they nothing but another car that should stay on the pavement?

Unlike the 4Runner's Body on Frame construction, the Highlander is a Unibody design that most people would not consider a candidate for a serious off road vehicle.
There may be people that build them up, but I'm not familiar with them. I've seen a couple Rav 4's built up which are also unibodies. I'm sure someone has done this with a Highlander but I've not seen it.

I looked it up a bit and it seems like as far as it goes they just have mild 1-2" lifts like what is popular on the Crosstrek.

Not gonna lie, that's a mean looking Rav4.

Those little Ravs are supposed to be pretty tough. People build those little Suzuki's and mud the shit out them in FLA. I bet a Rav with some sub frame bracing welded under there would be fun as hell.

Wife has a Highlander.

Isn't not something you dump money into for mods. Maybe the AWD can do a little but not worth the time.
