Just, wow.
I have no issues with folks having polar opposite political views. Many of my actual, physical, IRL, friends count themselves as old school Conservatives from way back. I lean more left of center, personally, but don't tend to make it other foks problem.
Anyone who, at this stage, is still going on as the above quoted section goes?
Please, be like my now party-less friends, who're sad that there's is no right of center anymore, complete with respect for science, truth, civility, and care for others less fortunate.
What's taken it's place is a toxic divisiveness that does our nation, no good at all, and it saddens me greatly to see it on a forum as cool and non political as this one.

I have no problem with opposing viewpoints either. What I have a problem with is blatant censorship and people forcing their viewpoint down my throat by hearing only one narrative from the main stream media, the government, and social media. Everybody's voice should be heard.

I use any of the free ad blocker extensions on Firefox like Ublock Origin - no banner ads at all. Without it I do see all that insane disgusting medical quackery.

It's the reality of the world we're living in and I wouldn't expect people to forget about it any time soon. It doesn't matter if people agree with you or not, we should not be censored.

The "truth" is not very popular these days. In the past couple years common sense has left the building. If I question whether or not a man can get pregnant, I'm being divisive. As for Science, Big Pharma and the medical community? They sold out decades ago.
What I do consider "truth", is a well done YT channel like
@ mtbtim
runs, showing me step by step how to do a difficult job on my 4Runner. And another forum wants to censor that? Ridiculous and I have a feeling they're just hating on his success.
Censorship has it's roots in evil, plain and simple. Anyone who doesn't think so is very misguided. I dumped social media because of it. I now have a fb account named after my 4Runner with 3 friends and following several offroad and Toyota pages. That's it.
As far as the disgusting ads? I've learned to navigate around them on PC, but might have to look into a blocker. This site has also been hacked with heavy spammers several times in the past, so it seems the mods have not been doing much maintenance either.

People have given up their ability to think. Critical thinking requires an unbiased approach, but many these days simply restate the position that their political party feeds them. Select your opinion from our menu, you know? As an example, I put forth one time that man-made global warming cannot be proven. People of all shapes and sizes jumped down my throat on that one. But my critical thinking tells me that widespread use and accurate data collection from accurate thermometers is less than 100 years old. So how can we know the earth is 1.2 degrees warmer over the past thousand years? Simply put, we can’t. And without such information, we can’t really know climate trends, either. Not a climate rant here, but rather, a thinking rant.

Would agree with Sean here. These ads are atrocious. I pay for the Tapatalk app on my iPhone and it seems to do the trick just fine, but whenever I log onto T4R on the computer it is absolutely swamped with ads.
On another note, I'd be curious to know who owns T4R. Tim made some solid points about the moderators on TW banning anyone for nonsensical things because I personally have seen it firsthand in a thread that I was apart of. I don't really go on there much now these days but it is what it is. I wish T4R was still jumping like it used to back in the day when I first joined.

I get that it takes money to run the website, and ads make money, but I've been running ad blockers on the internet for over a decade. +1 for Brave.
I wouldn't have known about any weird ads if not for this thread 😂

There's differing points of view, and then there's an aggressive desire to not believe or accept straight truth since it doesn't support ones inner narrative.
There's also just being older and kinda stuck in ones thought track, thats a thing for sure, too.
What's the saying, when does a groove become a rut too deep to get out of?
I'm just do my best at 55 years old to not get stuck in a rut, by simply asking questions and keeping an open mind. You know, like an American, accepting of the melting pot of cultures, and ideas that brought us things like burritos, bluegrass, IPA's, 4Runners, etc.
Thinking that one is in possession of "the only viable way to live a life" is an incredibly slippery slope into the group think most dictatorial governments prefer.
I run a business. I have political thoughts like anyone else. Never in a million years, would I make my business an extension of my politics. Why? Because bikes need fixing, there's a wide swath of humans with bikes out there, but their political, social, or sexual orientation doesn't mean their cash doesn't put food on my table too.
I liked this place better when it was about trucks, not who lost the last election. Odd, don't think I've run across any progressive minded folks trying to makes this place know who they are, but maybe I just missed it.

1) Moving this to General Discussion as it's not 3rd Gen related.
2) I use DuckDuckGo and Malwarebytes Browser Guard add-on (free) on my laptop and phone and never see any of what's been posted here. Annoying pop-up ads yes (phone only), whether I'm logged-in or not. Give it a try.
