Rare 1983 Toyota Pickup *Trailblazer Edition* $3000 (SE Portland)
I am offering my 1983 Toyota Trailblazer for sale. Here is a little history on this rare Toyota truck:
The Trailblazer is the result of a development deal between Toyota and Griffith motor homes. About 400 where manufactured and sold in the US between 1981 and 1983 as a SUV test market vehicle for Toyota. It is similar to a Toyota Trekker or a 4Runner. The truck is a single cab design that has a fiberglass campershell that is molded onto the bed with a fiberglass trim that runs along the "crack" where the bed would meet the cab. The rear seat is big enough for two, and is easily removable to accomidate larger loads. The entire bed is carpeted and includes special inner panels which allow small storage areas. According to wikipedia and various Toyota forums, there are only about 40 of these rigs still registered in the US today.
Some info on the truck at hand:
-Bulletproof 22r 2.4 L 4-cylinder engine
-SR5 package (all gauges working)
-5 speed manual transmission
-4x4 with front locking hubs (4-high and 4-low both work great)
-Solid front axle
-All stock-sized suspension, has not been lifted or used for serious offroading
-Clean body, no dents, nice brown paint
-211,xxx miles
-OR tags and registration good til 06/2010
-Recent oil and filter change, as well as brand new air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve
-New NGK platinum spark plugs with newer wires
-Fresh lube job on chassis, linkage, and steering knuckles
-Fresh gear oil in differentials and gearbox
-Radiator recently flushed and refilled, new hoses and clamps
-Sitting on studded WinterMaster tires with good tread life left, mounted on stock white rims (I will also include an extra set of stock silver rims)
-Rare rear seat in excellent condition
-Working auxilery lights
-Sunroof (no leaks)
-Mudflaps and side steps
-Full sized spare with original hydraulic jack and tools
-Clean title in hand ready to sign over
I bought this Trailblazer a couple months ago as a new project to work on. I was planning on doing an engine rebuild this winter. I've been fixing and cleaning her up, and using her to get around town. Been very reliable and gotten me everywhere I needed to go. However I will be moving out of state shortly and need a pickup truck for work. Looks, starts, runs and drives good. Ready for winter. Could use a newer battery, some engine work and a couple small repairs here and there, but that's half the fun of driving an older vehicle. This is a badass truck that I don't really wanna have to let go...
