What are the streaks on my glass???!!!

All of a sudden I am having this issue I cant fix. When I roll down the windows only part of the way, then roll it back up, there is an oily line horizontal to the weather striping on the inside. This is ONLY happening to the front windows though! I rolled them both down then took a microfiber towel with some Stoners Invisible Glass and wiped down the inside of the weatherstriping when I first saw it, and a whole lot of black oily looking crap came off...but it kept coming and coming and....well you get the point. Where is it coming from? Anyone else having this issue?

By the way...I didnt use any protectant or anything on the doors which may have leaked, so it isnt that.

My 2003 has been leaving the horizontal lines every once in awhile for the past year. They are not that bad and it is happening less and less. I expect it will stop someday.

I also get the lines on both the inside driver and passenger windows.

I believe I saw some mention of this before in one of the threads so you are not alone.

I assume some sealer from the factory got on a roller or guide and is causing the problem.

I am sure you could have the dealer open up the door and clean it up if you want to. i would prefer to leave the panel alone and wash the windows as needed.

Yeah...I figured as much. No---it hasnt been in for service. I think I may just go out when I have some free time and keep wiping it down. I hope it stops someday too brother!

i'm having the same problems with my windows. it's severe on all four door windows. i get to the point i don't even lower my front windows for ventilation… just the moon roof + rear twp passenger windows. glad to see i'm not alone with this either…
