I had a chevy Aveo shoved up my 4Runner's butt on saturday and I wondered if the Tow HItch was attached to the frame like I think it is. Can anyone confirm that?:bash: :(

I also would like to do that switch... at least until next year when Chevy releases a new smaller diesel engine that I can put in my 4R with chevy's new 6spd auto... here's my guess appx 250hp appx 400ft/lbs and about 35mpg :biggrin2: :beer: I'll drink to that

I'm coming up on 150k and have had no problems with my diff. I did have a problem with the Ide Control, but other than that this thing is built like a tank. I'm getting the diff fluid changed this weekend.

you have to realize that one of the larger recalls related to the 3rd Gen was the fuel gauge/sending unit. Have you ever noticed going to sleep with half a tank and waking up with 3/4 or 1/4 of a tank in the morning? Granted this doesn't effect all 4Runners of this time, but a lot of...

I did the same thing about 10k miles ago. I didn't go with crosdrilled as I really don't see the point since asbestos is no longer used in pads to the point where "outgassing" would occur. Anyways I went with the Hawk performance pads and the Brembo solid rotors. No problems so far besides...

And to think this was originally over a $400 opt. I took mine off, I like the fact that the old ones actually looked like trucks, unless you really are going to pick the kids up from soccer practice... :D

Ok So I was told that to determine which one of my catalytic converters is blown that I could hook up a scanner to my O2 sensor. I told him the OBD II code was P0420 (which just says that one/both isn't working). Is this guy bogus? Could I just rent the scanner from Autozone and do it myself...

thanks for the insight fellas. I appreaciate the help from someone worth asking. I'm sure you know how hard it is just to find decent help these days, let alone GOOD help.

Anybody have any ideas what would cause "spotty" tire wear? It is worn to the bone in seemingly random patches, but almost new in others. I know balance can do this, rotors too. It's only in the front, which makes me think rotors, but they were just replaced, so that doesn't make too much sense.
