tow hitch?

I had a chevy Aveo shoved up my 4Runner's butt on saturday and I wondered if the Tow HItch was attached to the frame like I think it is. Can anyone confirm that?:bash:

The tow hitch on a third gen is indeed bolted to the frame. Mine has eight bolts holding it on (excessive), but I've seen them installed with four before.

yep right to the frame.

make sure the body shop checks the frame mounts for damage.

if it was a hard enough hit it could have tucked the rails down. or if it was really hard I had seen them push up into the rear floor.
