    Wheel Corrosion issues?

You could do as I did before I had them all refinished, described in the other thread I linked above, scrape the bubbled areas off and paint with this: Professional Ready Mix Flat Aluminum Enamel Interior/Exterior Paint (Actual Net Contents: 32-fl oz)...

You think the Apple CarPlay Radio will mount into the 5th gen?

I have the Alpine iLX-107 in my Wrangler and love it. I just searched Crutchfield and it will fit my 2004 4R and a 2019 4R. I love the wireless CarPlay. Wireless music and phone is more important to me than having CarPlay, so unless Toyota puts wireless CarPlay in the 4R, I would go with the...

    Radio Upgrades... Let see them.

Nothing much to see with mine. OEM CD player radio on my 2004 but I added a USA Spec Bluetooth adaptor and Kenwood under seat subwoofer. I’ve had the USA Spec for about 5 years and it works flawlessly for cord free music streaming from iPhone and phone calls. The Kenwood subwoofer under the...

    Was there a V6 4x4 in the 4th Generation?

Yes I have one and have had it since new in 2004, very common. Plenty of power even when pulling my 20 foot boat.

    More Legroom

You can lower the brake pedal a little very easily by removing the rubber cover. I haven’t missed mine at all. My son gave me the idea when he took them off the pedals in his 2000 manual Accord. I’ve also done it in my Wrangler to get it closer to the level of the gas pedal. If you don’t like it...

    More Legroom

My biggest issue with the brake pedal was shoes with a protruding sole would get caught under the brake pedal when lifting up off the gas pedal. Very dangerous. Fixed it.

    T4R not working on Tapatalk

I’ve never had problems reading this forum on Tapatalk, my issue is nothing from this forum shows up in my feed or notifications, including threads I’ve subscribed to, replied to, or was the OP. Anybody else or is there a fix?

How to lower seat in 4th gen

These brackets I installed yesterday don’t lower the seat, but they did give me an additional 4” of legroom, so I thought some of the tall people posting in this thread would appreciate knowing about it. http://extendmyseat.com/toyota-4runner-2003-2008-seat-brackets/ I also put them in my 2008...

    More Legroom

I installed the seat extension brackets yesterday and they moved the seat back 4”. More than enough to make me happy. Installation was very easy.

    steering wheel knock

I’ll keep following that one in case a source for the part shows up. I wonder if an OEM part replacement would fix it.

    steering wheel knock

I tried that a while back and it didn’t help. Looking at that thread I was the last person to post 1-1/2 years ago.

    steering wheel knock

I did that and it didn’t do anything.

    More Legroom

I’m 6’-3” with a 36” inseam. Now 60 years old the ONLY vehicle I’ve ever owned that had enough legroom was a 98 F150. I put Misch BigBoy Brackets in my 2016 Wrangler which made it fit perfectly and have been searching hard for something like that for the 4R and my DD Accord. Finally got them...

    More Legroom

I’ve been searching for something to give me more legroom since I bought my 4R new in 2004. Somebody finally makes seat brackets to do it, which I stumbled across and ordered yesterday. http://extendmyseat.com/toyota-4runner-2003-2008-seat-brackets/

    steering wheel knock

My 2004 Toyota 4Runner has had this annoying clacking or knocking issue in the steering column for years. I talked to a former Toyota dealer service manager who thinks he knows the cause but can’t duplicate it on the road. I made this off-road video to show him. Will update if he knows how to...
