Anyone know if it's possible for bubbles to make it into the radiator from another source other than the head?

    86 w/ 22re Overheating issues, head gasket???

I think the fan clutch is good. When I was trying to diagnose the overheating, the fan was going pretty good, because when bubbles would come out of the radiator it was blowing the coolant in my face. After I took the fan and radiator out, I grabbed the pulley on the fan clutch and it was...

    86 w/ 22re Overheating issues, head gasket???

I bench tested the thermostat and it opens right up. Removed radiator and ran water through it (even though new) and goes right through. No oil in my coolant, or coolant in my oil. Clean exhaust (no smoke or steam). However, when I start it up with the radiator cap off, my coolant continues...

Hello, Here's the deal... Its been really cold for around here lately, it was about 8F degree's this morning. I have noticed that in the cold weather the last week or so that its been running a bit warmer, going about to red on the temp g. before dropping down to the half way mark. Anyhow...

1st gen hardtop- on or off?

Yes, it's true... If I'm not mistaken it's the second bolt on your left if your sitting on your tailgate facing the front of the truck. I'm thinking of ditching my hard top for good (any buyer's?) and going to a soft top. As my rig's been becoming more and more of a rock crawler, and it's so...

    Smallblock Swap

I don't know if I can use my stock transfercase, being the Toyota Automatic... If I can't I wonder if they make a bellhousing adapter to run the stock auto w/transfercase on the chevy 350, the tranny might hold up seeing how the wife would be driving it more than me.

    Smallblock Swap

Hello all, It's been a while since I've been on, seeing how the 'puter was Fubared. Anyways I know a bit about the swap, but has anyone put a 350 in a 2nd gen??? The 95 runner I picked up a while back, I'm just gonna small block it. It's an automatic now, but I'm gonna run a turbo 350...

    throttle sticking

Gryphon know's what he's talking about... I would put money on (speaking from experience w/ my 85) that your throttle cable is coming apart. It happened to me up in the mountain's wheeling (go figure) but the wires in the cable started breaking and coming out of lay, and hanging up inside the...

    4runner Wont Start

Maybe not.... Although manuals say to drop the tank, on the 1st gens you don't, there is an access panel underneath the back seat that you unbolt and it goes right to the top of the tank above the fuel pump, and you can pull the fuel pump right out that way... I'm not 100% positive on the 2nd...

Broken 1 wire sender, what is it?

I would have to look at mine to double check, I'm at school right now. But I'm pretty sure it's your oil pressure switch... If it's a big aluminum plug in the side of the block it should be the oil pressure switch...

    1st gen 4Runner ('89) won't start...

Re: fuel pump Dude, I definately think you tweeked your distributer shaft. I would take the whole distributer shaft out and check it. Messed up idle, and overheating could be from your timing being screwed up due to the screwed up distributer.
