    Oil drain plug leak?

Hey guys, So I changed the oil yesterday and this morning I noticed a slow leak (small 2-3tbls puddle) on the garage floor. The drain plug does indeed have a drip. I did remove the previous gasket washer (which was aluminum). I did replace it with a new copper washer meant for drain plus (all...

Does this rear UCA mount look bent?

Ignore the rust. Does this rear passenger side (closest to front of vehicle) look slightly bend? Maybe it's just me, but it looks a bit twisted. Perhaps this is the normal look. Thought I'd check before installing the new arm. Thanks

    Transmission hose replacement question

Got it. You have a V6? I ask because my PS line down on that dross member looks like a big "S" shape. Yours looks straight across the front. What's a crimp connection?

    Spare Tire Cable/Winch replacement

Also, dumb question but the more I think about it - a body mount isn't exactly "structural" right? What would happen if one of those rotten out? Because my front passenger side has a big hole inside the frame where the mount is attached, kind of hidden by the mount. I bet if a lot of owners...

    Frame Rust Evaluation

Business decision. No doubt would of bankrupted them. For those who know Bob, he did a frame swap and it was in a magazine years ago. I would buy a frame for 1-2k and pay 8k with ancillary parts+labor if I knew it would be done right by someone who would pay attention to detail.

    Spare Tire Cable/Winch replacement

Yea, I wish "4runherpow's" truck was rust free. That's me lol. You think the structural integrity is shot? I wasn't crazy concerned about the holes in the back but the gashes leading up to the rear driver's side body mount is what bothered me. I figured it looks still ok enough where if I get...

    Transmission hose replacement question

Interesting. So you cut the steel lines and ran just normal 3/8id hose? I have the dealer hose the obviously plugs into the steel line, which does have some bubbles. Dumb question but how do I tell the difference between a low and high pressure line? And no down side to running rubber hose all...

    Transmission hose replacement question

Thanks. Yea, I did that technique one time years ago when doing a full fluid exchange. The issue being here, I'm not looking to replace all fluid so the concept of letting air bubble circulate until in reaches the downstream hose probably isn't worth the hassle. I do have a garage and tools, and...

    Frame Rust Evaluation

I have 100 quarters. She runs like a champ. Do what you think is best but a quarter sized hole for a 20 year old vehicle isnt going to stop the truck. It's as others have already said - large 7,8,10" gashes in multiple key areas of the frame like near body mounts, suspension parts, or cross...

    Transmission hose replacement question

I'm replacing the one that goes from the a hardline straight up in front of the engine then hooks back in to near a frame rail. Its a rubber hose that looks very dry rotted. The metal lines are not in great shape, then have bubbles. I just want to make sure it's ok to replace the line then start...

    Transmission hose replacement question

I have to replace one of the hoses that runs along the front since it looks like its about to go. I had one break while driving recently and Toyota replaced one of them at a dumb cost + fill transmission $800. When I replace this next hose, my plan is to clamp the hose and cap the hard line to...

    Spare Tire Cable/Winch replacement

Lol, you have like NO RUST. Very nice and super jealous. I can see how the dremel will be challenging. I wish there was a way to just open up the hoist and remove the cable, replace and lube. Taking this thing apart looks horrendous. Plus see my rust! On another note: my plan is to use strong...
