my old 97 I had done the 199 upgrade on my old 4runner. i remember it being WAYYYY better than stock. it has been 8 years since i did it though.. plan on doing it to the new 4runner as well. these were NAPA calipers and ebay rotors. unsure about pads. probably ebay pads that came with the rotors.

drive shafts also check the drive shafts. i recently greased the front and rear shafts and it removed 90% of the clunks. hard shifts are probably the kick down cable or low / high fluids.

4runner i picked my latest rig up for 500... plus about 50 hours labor and a new engine :) might have helped it was bought from a friend. black 99 sr5 4wd. here in rust free AZ. similar trucks here on craigslist are 5k+ just have to keep an eye out!
