275 vs 285 overall performance sanity check

I went with a 275. For tire height, you're only talking about a .5 inch difference, maybe less. I had to do zero mods, no rubbing in any configuration. Let's not forget, Toyota took two bone stock 4Runners, back in 2010, and only added an A/T tire in the stock size, and some rock sliders...

    285/70/17 on Stock Height

Thanks for all the education and insight. I ended up going with some 275/70/17 Cooper Discoverer AT3/LT E-Load tires. I already run these on my Ram 1500 and they are amazing tires (driving in snowy mountain ranges in Idaho and the tire delivered every time). I decided to not go 285 just to be...

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

A Subarau does not outperform the 4Runner in winter conditions and they are not more functional. I'm curious why you think that.

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

I am running Discoverer AT3 E load tires on my Ram 1500. I have had them on for a couple years now and they are an amazing tire! Quiet and traction in all kinds of road conditions, on or off. I drove on them for over a year in Idaho, before moving after retiring from the Air Force. My...

To everyone else, thank you for all the insight!

    285/70/17 on Stock Height

If you talked to someone in person the exact same way you just typed what you typed, then you would understand how disrespectful it is. I'm plenty secure and fun, but I'm not going to put up with someone talking to me like I'm a 6th grader. You seem judgmental though. Maybe you should work...

    285/70/17 on Stock Height

This graph is perfect thanks a bunch! Attention starved are we? Thanks a bunch. Go talk to someone else like a 6th grader. If you had read my post, you would clearly see that I already had stated I was looking at buying a true 32.7 inch tire. The tire height was never a question as I had...

    285/70/17 on Stock Height

Greetings everyone. I did a search and couldn't find anything definitive so I thought I'd put a quick post up and ask the question. I have a 2018 Off Road Pro. Can I run a 285/70/17 tire on it or do I need to wait for a suspension lift? If I do need a suspension lift, would 2.5 inches be...

    Labor cost for wheel spacers

If you do spacers, won't you need longer wheel studs?

What was the turnaround time for the wheel? Thanks!

What do you think about the quality, gas mileage and price of the 4Runner?

Toyota took two 2010 4Runners on the Rubicon trail with only A/T tires and sliders for mods. Both conquered it and then drove 700+ miles back to Arizona. The Jeep Rubicon has more clearance, much taller tires, front locker, and other options. Did they take a bone stock 4-door JR and beat the...

What do you think about the quality, gas mileage and price of the 4Runner?

Not sure if this has been mentioned but, using a rental vehicle to be your example is about the worst choice you could have made. Go look at a used 4Runner sitting on a lot or look at a friends. Rentals get beat on and are not very well cared for.

Picked Up a 4Runner...Let the Modding Begin

First and foremost, I want to thank this community for being here and providing me with a ton of helpful information. It is a white 2018 TRD Off Road Premium with 29K miles. I put a couple pics below. For the modding, I am going to take my time and put together a good package that will make...

2018 TRD Off Road Premium Question

Thanks for all the responses guys! Meltdown, will the bolt-on sliders stand up to the trails as well as weld-on options? I would much rather go with the bolt-on option but just want to make sure all my ducks are in a row here. Thanks.

2018 TRD Off Road Premium Question

Greetings! So, I am looking at a 2018 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium. I noticed the vehicle has no running boards/rock sliders on it. Aren't these standard on all Off Road Premium models or am I wrong here?
