5th generation rear brake rotor removal--help

Gentlemen. Success! Thank you for your posts. The rotor is now off. The rotor must have been an aftermarket item since the access holes did not line up very well with the access hole in the hub. Again, thank you. Russ

5th generation rear brake rotor removal--help

I can't tell if the opening is supposed to be through the rotor itself?? If so, how do you position the rotor to align with the adjuster? Thanks. Russ

5th generation rear brake rotor removal--help

BG, Thanks for the illustration. Still baffled though. I have gone over the brakeplate and cannot find the plug that needs to be removed to get at the adjuster. Is there anything in the manual that clarifies this?

5th generation rear brake rotor removal--help

Hello all. I have spent the last three hours trying to remove the rear brake rotor on my 2010 4Runner. I found a similar thread here in the forums but was unable to find any suitable information there. The rotor is loose, but it is hung up on the parking brake shoes; there must be a way to...

Ham radio in the dash storage bin?

I'm not trying to hijack the thread here, but being a Ham, I am very interested in what others come up with for their radio/antenna installations. Hopefully this thread will continue with updates. 998cc KW6T 2010 4Runner

    2010 4Runner 4X4 front wheel bearing?

The hub is the original on the truck. The new bearing/housing assembly, dust seal, O-ring and bolts are genuine OEM Toyota parts ordered from Olathe Toyota. Being my first Toyota wheel bearing job, the quick trip to the machine shop for a press job was a surprise. ;-)

    2010 4Runner 4X4 front wheel bearing?

I will do the opposite bearing next. At any rate, doing all four myself with genuine Toyota parts will still be less than having one wheel done at the dealer.

    2010 4Runner 4X4 front wheel bearing?

As a follow up. My hearing is not the best, and various passengers were certain the noise is emanating from the passenger side of the rig. Over the weekend, we drove to Reno, Nv. and back, and I noted the sound is worse at about 60 MPH. The kicker is the noise stops on fairly hard right-hand...

    2010 4Runner 4X4 front wheel bearing?

All. My 2010 started making what sounds similar to tire noise. Like you would normally hear from a radical off road tire. My tires are street tread mud and snows:Nitto "Dura Grappler" "Highway Terrain" P265/70 R17. The tread is not aggressive, so I am wondering if this could be a front hub...

    2010 4R damaged sensor,ABS lights reset?

Hello all. My first post. I ran over a rope on the freeway that wrapped around the front axle right next to the brake plate. All the ABS lights came on, and after removing the rope, I noticed it had strained the ABS sensor wire harness. I should be able to replace the sensor, but I need to...
