Can anyone tell me what skid plates came standard on a 2012 Trail edition? Steel, composite, etc... and how much coverage they provided? Thanks.

I'm going to get rid of the corroded KDSS on my 2012 Trail 4runner. My mechanic said he has the parts for the conversion to a standard suspension. I'm not mechanically inclined so I'm not exactly sure what all of it entails. Will I need new shocks? Someone please educate me. Thank you all.
