Thanks for the ideas. Lucky for me this is not my daily driver so I'll probably keep it on Jacks and start replacing what I need to replace.

So the seal was bad so I decided to remove it.. Now I noticed the oil pan had a boat load of sloppy rtv and I think it's leaking a small amount so I might drop the oil pan too.. Tranny is a little wet too.. Should I drop that too? What else should I do while this thing is on Jacks and the diff...

Ah okay, so I should replace the bearing that connects to the right cv axle, and the gasket. Should I replace the pinion seal while I"m at it?

Yikes that sounds like a lot of work..do you think I should just replace the gasket to prevent it from leaking? the right side of it, where the right cv axel sounds a little rough when rotating, I figure it was a bearing that was bad, hence why I wanted to take it apart..

oops, my mistake, I have an 88 honda crx, which I'm also looking at parts, must of gotten those two mixed up. Yeah I figure I'd drain the differential completly, disconnect the cv axels and.. well I guess I can figure it out from there, haven't done this before but, this isn't my primary...
