So the seal was bad so I decided to remove it.. Now I noticed the oil pan had a boat load of sloppy rtv and I think it's leaking a small amount so I might drop the oil pan too.. Tranny is a little wet too.. Should I drop that too? What else should I do while this thing is on Jacks and the diff is out?

Sure, good time to reseal the pan if you think it's leaking. I suppose you could drop the trans too, but that's a lot of work.

You already took the studs off the halfshafts, or somebody did, that's the only other "must do" I could think of.

Replace with straight axle?

Sorry, had to.

I would look at the passenger side seal on the diff while its out. Also check the cv boots. Would be an easy time to replace boots, repack cv's while you in there.

Thanks for the ideas. Lucky for me this is not my daily driver so I'll probably keep it on Jacks and start replacing what I need to replace.
