I have an 04 V6, think it's 5 speed and only use OEM. Personally, I would only use OEM. For may drain and fill, my mechanic drains about 3 quarts at a time.

I had one of those leaks that never hit the ground over 10 years ago. A Toyota shop foreman tried to tell me it was the intake manifold. It was the coolant transfer pipe or something like that and was only a $200/250 repair.
