    20k first recorded oil change - used 2023 SR5

Yeah, used prices suck. I've been looking for a few months. This is about as good as it gets, you might find one a little cheaper for bone stock, zero upgrades at all. A ton, though, in the 42-45k range for sure. SR5P up near high 40's often (which is what I'd really like to find) I would...

    20k first recorded oil change - used 2023 SR5

So I guess we can agree there are a few reasons why the dealership might not do the oil change or that it wouldn't be reported to Toyota/Carfax. Assuming the dealer isn't able to gain access to any previous service records (I've asked already if they have them and they said no), should this...

    20k first recorded oil change - used 2023 SR5

yes, this is from a dealer. Truck as 25k miles now, apparently service was done last summer at 20k miles at this same dealer that is selling. I've asked if they have any previous records from the owner and they do not. If you check the link, they did some upgrades so I'm hoping that means...

    20k first recorded oil change - used 2023 SR5

Thinking about becoming a 4runner owner again. Found a used 2023 with the specs I want (white 2023+, no 3rd row, under 30k miles, not a previous rental) and came across this, which is the look I always wanted to go for...

    COVID Years 5th Gen?

How are you finding used pricing for these years? I'm also shopping and it seems high to me. Just came across a 2021 sr5 premium, KBB has this listed at 37k for a fair purchase price and then I see msrp was only 39k on these. I was hoping to stay 35-36k OTD on a couple year old Sr5 with under...

Repair questions 2004 Limited (exhaust, brakes, AC)

thanks, I am the orig owner but I wasn't aware of that link - thanks. I have had most of the big service done at dealerships, so I'm curious to go back in time and see what exactly what was done.

Repair questions 2004 Limited (exhaust, brakes, AC)

No, I didn't get any codes for the ABS. Are those codes pretty telling to help pinpoint the actual issue? When the problem first arose on the ABS, I did search here and did see mention of the wheel sensors. I think they are less than $50 so maybe I should start with that and see what happens?

Repair questions 2004 Limited (exhaust, brakes, AC)

Thanks for the note on the timing belt. I honestly wasn't even considering "regular" maintenance like that and yeah, that's not a cheap item. I am pretty sure I had the pump replaced at the same time at the belt the last time around but it was off my radar for now. The Rock Auto kit you link...

Repair questions 2004 Limited (exhaust, brakes, AC)

thanks for the thoughts.... I'm not much of a car wrencher so not sure how much of this we'd be able to do together. I think I do agree about the brakes being the most important part. I haven't noticed any ill effects when the ABS alarm is on, but yeah, that's not something I'd want to chance...

Repair questions 2004 Limited (exhaust, brakes, AC)

Hi all, Original owner 2004 Limited v8 with approx 180k miles. After about 19 years, I finally leased a new vehicle for myself but we have a 15 year old with little to no savings so wondering if this makes sense to hang onto 6 months until he starts to drive (as it doesn't look like he's going...

Loud high pitch electrical noise from dash somewhere?

Thanks for the reply. I ended up taking the truck in and got some bad news. They said master brake pump assembly was bad - $3200 to replace. Truck also sounded like a race car - they said the whole exhuast system needs to be replaced at $7400 :mmph: To be honest, I don't necessary mind the...

Loud high pitch electrical noise from dash somewhere?

Not exactly sure where its coming from but its loud and almost constant when the truck is running. 2004 Limited with 170k miles. I have tried every button on the dash to get it to stop and nothing seems to affect it. It's on most of the time. Sometimes it'll shut off when I'm driving but...

remove shifter housing to re-attach shift cable?

Thanks - I see the shift lever lock pin. I don't think I have the corresponding nut that the diagram on page 1 shows. In either case, I can't seem to get that pin to move. I guess that's my next step but I'm not sure. Funny, the bushingfix site says this is an easy job anyone can do in 5...

remove shifter housing to re-attach shift cable?

hi all, I need to replace the bushing for my shifter cable. I have the truck as follows. How do I remove the rest of this to get down to the end of the cable to re-attach it? http://www.aaronheck.com/pics/4runner_shifter.jpg
