Got the paint and sprayed myself.

Chrome piece was on when I bought it. I thought it was a factory piece, never thought much of it till you said something. Tried quick google search and could not find anything??????? I sprayed them myself, but I forget what I paid for the paint at stealership.

I have noticed sometimes when I first put it into drive and give it gas, it revs up and then drops into gear. It has only done this a few times in the last week or so, but it makes me now think it is transmission and not rear axle What would cause it to not go into drive right away when...

mikgrail3: Could you see the grease easily? might pull the drums off and take a look. I bought some lucas transmission stuff and noticed when I put it in that my transmission oil was low. I don't think that my transmission has ever been serviced also @ 170,000 miles. Greased slip yoke too...

Thanks for the input. but I don't think that is it. This binding happens sometimes and sometimes it does not. I have noticed it does it more when I first start the motor. Also when it does it, I can give it a bit of gas(1200rpm) let off, and car will come to a stop feeling like the brakes...
