Used TJM Bumper for sale, Is this guy crazy?

I have been looking for a used arb, warn, tjm bumper for a while and came across this one for sale on craigslist. This guy is trying to sell a used TJM for $1,200.00 no winch. I emailed him and he told me he bought it for 900.00 a few years ago. I am not trying to bash this guy in any means, he seemed like a nice guy via email. I told him I guess you will laugh in my face when I offer you 500 for it, and he did, which I don't think is to crazy of an offer I told him best of luck. So if anyone is looking for a winch bumper here is a nice one, besides the price! You guys tell me what you think!

Well, TJM doesn't import to US anymore. Supply vs. demand, I guess. I would NEVER pay that much for TJM. No matter how "nice" he is, tell him to shove it. TJM is not superior to ARB, Shockworks, etc.

If I were you, I'd laugh back at him for asking such a ridiculous price. He got bent over paying $900 for a TJM a few years ago. I only paid $600 for mine 2yrs ago, and it was brand new.

These bumpers are not a fine wine; They don't become more expensive as they age. Granted, TJM pulled out of North America, but for $1,200, you could have a custom front bumper made.

If you're dead set on a TJM, I'd keep looking. Granted, you could always buy mine for $1,000. :bigok:

I agree, TJMs are going to be harder to find now, I'd start looking for an ARB instead, but it doesnt hurt to search for a TJM as well, Just dont pay for anything over $700 is what I'd say, unless it comes with a winch as well.

I figure if I look long enough I will come across on for the right price. When I had my tacoma a few years ago it seemed like every few months I came across a bumper for it. I have not seen many used ones on the market right now, oh well!
