    New 5th gen... Big Mistake?

Well I'd be honest : I made exactly the same mistake as you. I was sure that as the last gen 4runner the center diff was included in the SR5. At first I was pissed off, and thought on upgrading to a limited, but the price gap is huge in Canada (we are talking of a 11k gap + about 4k for the...

Rear window not working but everything else work

Nope. All other window roll down perfectly. :) I removed the back cover of the hatch window. Everything seems ok. Did anybody know if I could check if the signal is passing with a voltmeter if I've got access to the harness behind the hatch window cover? I do I risk shorting something?

Rear window not working but everything else work

Could anybody help me with this problem. I'm living in a remote area and the nearest dealership is 300 miles away. My rear windows won't work anymore. Here's the steps I took after looking into other threads : - Checked for a blowed fuse and replaced the fuse (don't work) - Checked the switch...

These *&*%$#@ CHEAP door handles !

Funny story I got my SR5 delivered on the day of my marriage, and made the first scratch on it with my wedding ring... Since then I installed clear 3M film like these on the handles and it did a great job to protect further damage : 6" x 60" Clear Door Sill Paint Protection Scratch Film Vinyl...

    Was gonna buy but......

I don't know if it's different in the US, but in Canada on the 37 dealers I've contacted when I was buying my runner, only one answered my quote request via email. All the others either refused to discuss money via email :gun4: or just plain ignored me...

I've got a full set of HD's. Ride if a little more bouncy, but not stiff. Also it pretty much eliminate the dive in and greatly reduce body roll.

What will Toyota do to follow?

eh.....nothing? There's not relation between the new unibody explorers and the 4runner. One is a unibody AWD minivan and the other is a BOF 4WD off road vehicule. The fact that they make a sport model just confirm that, there's no off road capability in that model. Honestly if I was going to...

Is frame rust an issue in Alberta?

There will be rust, especially since our roads are salted. However, with a good rust protection each year (oil or grease) you should be able to do 15 year with that truck. The frame rusting will issue from my knowledge was resolved long ago. However, you need to be realist = the frame will...

    Paint or powdercoat sliders?

I've ordered sliders from Shrockworks, but I was wondering what was the best rust protection for those. Since our roads are salted 6 months a year, rust is a big problem. Should I go with bare-metal sliders, glossy PC, or textured PC?

5G 4Runner : best choice for french canadian Consumer Reports.

I just received the annual car review of the french canadian equivalent of CR. (Protégez-vous) and I was happily surprised to see that the 4Runner is their best choice for SUV (true SUV, not crossover) vehicles and got a 5-stars rating. Here's the article : http://i44.tinypic.com/ftmtlx.jpg...

    No audio from radio...

Well thats exactly the problem I was getting. The radio was powering on without any problem, but no sound from the speakers. Im not 100% sure it was the ground however, it could have been a bad contact with a 12v wire and the car metal frame also. (long story short the red black wires were...

    No audio from radio...

I got that problem and it was an incorrectly grounded wire from my DIY backup camera. So if you've got mods, check them to be sure everything is grounded.

Please explain SR5 4-wheel drive system

Yep that I get this, but let's say I'm on the highway and it looks like this : Can I keep in 4wd on long distances (hundred of miles) without any problem, even when there's curves on the road? Can light slush allow the wheel to slip enough without damaging the drivetrain?
