Back Door (liftgate) outer weatherstrip R&R

Yes, those are the 2 rubber channels I replaced in the video

Back Door (liftgate) outer weatherstrip R&R

The part numbers are in my comments just below the video. It's a fairly easy job. I've done the front left and right weather door window strips too and the 2nd row strips have reached that point as well. It appears they are done the same way as the front but the screw that holds it in is on the...

    2007 sport AC problem

I don't know if it applies but this seems to be an issue with some Gen4s A/C hot/cold - thermistor - read before replacing

Stuck, can't remove driver front tire

If you just had that wheel off 48 hours ago I too agree that it couldn't be corrosion. On the other hand, if you eliminate all other possibilities then it would have to be corrosion, or binding somehow. Being in Minnesota and having all that salt to deal with I'd put money on corrosion. Was it...

    Dropped Washer in Block

The first one I ever bought was called "mechanical fingers" and when I had to buy replacements I always used that phrase and it never fails to find one or for someone to know what you're talking about. It's one of the most valuable tools in my toolbox. I'm always dropping something into...

Soaked 2008 interior, no start and no check engine light?

Interesting. Since there doesn't seem to be a problem here after the Gen 4 it looks like Toyota solved that problem; maybe even before the end of that generation. Years ago I had some Chrysler products and they all leaked at the left side wiper. With every rain I got a wet sock. I wonder if...

Soaked 2008 interior, no start and no check engine light?

Thanks for posting the link to the video. It was very interesting but I don't plan on power washing my interior :). Never can tell about flooding though. If that happens I would disconnect the battery and have it towed home to dry out. The author complained about how low that connector was. Not...

Soaked 2008 interior, no start and no check engine light?

I don't suppose you have a picture of this box, or maybe a name? Can you give a better description? You never know when / if something like this will happen and it's always good to know. Thanks for your post

Soaked 2008 interior, no start and no check engine light?

You might try a mobile locksmith before the dealership. I've had good luck with one in my town that came to my house and reprogrammed a 2012 Corolla when both keys were lost. Then, when we found them, he reprogrammed them also. He used some kind of device that when he turned it on it cost me an...

Tire Rotation after back surgery, anyone use this type of tool?

You use it to lift the tire to install it? I never thought of that. I use the pair to move my boat around the garage. They sure make it easier to do that

    Losing coolant

Better losing than gaining I always say :)

    Losing coolant

How's the oil level? I've seen head gasket leaks send coolant into the oil. Just a thought.

Do exhaust fumes still enter through the open rear window

Mine did that until I replaced the rubber gasket around the rear window. Now it will do it on a hard acceleration (like when new) but not just zipping along. Replace those gaskets. They're really easy to replace.

    Hatch questions

Try using 70-90% isopropyl alcohol on that switch cover before replacing it. I've used it on kitchen tools that have the rubber handle cover and it works quite well on those. Use cloth or paper towel wet with the alcohol (has to be 70% isopropyl or higher) and wipe the cover, turning the...
