Mine did that until I replaced the rubber gasket around the rear window. Now it will do it on a hard acceleration (like when new) but not just zipping along. Replace those gaskets. They're really easy to replace.

Try using 70-90% isopropyl alcohol on that switch cover before replacing it. I've used it on kitchen tools that have the rubber handle cover and it works quite well on those. Use cloth or paper towel wet with the alcohol (has to be 70% isopropyl or higher) and wipe the cover, turning the...
