    New - Again!

I'm not exactly new to 4Runners or this Forum, I joined both back in 2010 after I ended my 20-year long love/hate relationship with Jeep and bought a brand new Silver 2010 4Runner SR5. That SR5 became one of the most loved vehicles we have ever owned. It's been all over our with our family...

Air Lift 1000 Puck or no Puck?

I got the install done. It took longer then it should have, but that's typical for me. I'm glad I installed the pucks, I can see how they'll also protect the air connector on the bag. I cleaned the pucks with isopropyl alcohol, that did the trick to clean off the plastisizer. I used some 3M...

Air Lift 1000 Puck or no Puck?

Thanks for the reply, that makes sense. The pucks have an oily film on them, I'm assuming plasticizer or something coming out of the polyurethane. Did you have any issues with double sided tape sticking to it? Thanks again.

Air Lift 1000 Puck or no Puck?

I have a 2010 SR5 I'm about to install some Air Lift 1000s one. I've read everything I can find and feel pretty good about the overall install except one thing, the puck. I've read conflicting reports and seen conflicting photos of whether I need to install the puck or not. I'm going to be...

    How to load Kayak?

I was wondering how your setup with 2 Hullavators is working and holding up? How far do your transport them? The reason I ask is that I bought 1 Hullavator and love it with my Hobie Outback! Getting a second would be great, but I was concerned about weight issues. A set of Hullavators...

    Anyone with a Thule Slipstream?

Not yet. I haven't bought the Hobie yet, so didn't need to get the slip stream. If you get one, please post some pictures. If I get one ill post pictures, but I can't imagine ill pull the trigger until spring or summer.

Need a commuter car - Prius?

I would love to say it's my great negotiating skills and that I wore the dealer down, but that's not the case. I did it all via the internet and got 5 quotes from dealers. 2 of them were just below invoice. I think it was just the timing. Lots are filled with 2012 Camry's and the 2013s are a...

Need a commuter car - Prius?

Hey everyone, quick up date. After doing some test drives and getting 5 internet quotes, (interestingly the range in prices of the quotes was $1,500!). I picked up a brand new 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE with the convenience and leather packages in Cypress Pearl (4 miles on to odometer)...

Need a commuter car - Prius?

Will do! Now to get a good deal on one. When I bought the 4Runner, I spent hours at one dealer on two occasions, test driving 4Runners and Sequoias. They tried every game in the book to get me to budge from what I was willing to pay, the manager even tried the guilt trip "You know, Joe spent...

Need a commuter car - Prius?

Yep, I am at an age and stage in my life where I don't want to work on cars any more unless its modding them for fun! I did a write up about adding running boards and mud flaps to my 5th Gen, I just did some interior LEDs and will do the backup camera mod when it's out of warranty. But I am not...

Need a commuter car - Prius?

Even suggesting a Chevy is entering unfriendly territory with my wife! She is totally biased against any American made car these days! If I suggested a Chevy, we bought it and we had problems it would be "I told you so!!" If we buy a Toyota and the sames thing happens "Hmm, must be a fluke"...

Need a commuter car - Prius?

I appreciate everyone's input. I am currently doing the "10 year old car", have done it and am done with it. I am thinking that plan may really be penny wise and pound foolish when you factor in the repair costs and residual value of $0.00, not to mention the extreme aggravation of breakdowns...

Need a commuter car - Prius?

You are killing me! I just read all 12 pages of your thread on your Prius which convinced me it was the way to go. Now I come back to this tread and you throw the hybrid Camery into the mix! Back to the spread sheets! We had a 1993 Camery we put 247,000 miles on. It was a good car overall...

Need a commuter car - Prius?

I have been on the "drive the Acura until it croaks" plan for a while, but it seems like the end is near and I would rather get out while there is some residual value left. Plus, the tires on that thing are stupid expensive, last set lasted me all of 35,000 and cost $900 to replace. I am sure...

Need a commuter car - Prius?

Currently own a 5th Gen that the wife drives since her commute is 3 miles each way and she is carting the kids around. I, unfortunately, drive about 110 miles round trip to work every day. My commuter, a 2003 Acura TLS isn't long for this world with 120,000 miles on it. I need to replace the...
