    Consolidated Lighting Info Thread

My Simdevanma $40 LED bulbs have been great. More than a year of perfect working order now. My writeup on them was here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/236982-good-cheap-led-headlights-fogs-fit-2016-toyota-4runner.html#post2677065 I get that everyone says "you get what you pay...

Yup, Prinsu Designs rack. Use cobalt bits for front hole drilling if you can. Took me a long time to get through the metal roof with my titanium bits.

Yes, my 285 BFG KO2 fits perfect in the spare slot. Just bring it up slowly and pull to the back of towards the rear bumper if you have KDSS to ensure no rub.

Good, Cheap LED Headlights/Fogs that fit 2016 T4R

Why am I unsurprised that XenonDepot would try to highjack a thread about good LED lights from Amazon over their own overpriced LED lights.... :flamethrwoer2:

Mysterious Toyota Phenomena in Hawaii - Let's hear from the locals!

Just waiting on the Hawaiians to spot the thread and represent. If there are legit off-roaders, they aren't going to tolerate this :-)

Ha, maybe you wouldn't consider mine "built". But I'll give you a shout if I spot you. I'm over on the east side.

Feedback request from T4Rs Lifting rear tire (only) with Hi Lift on sliders

Did you tie your axle or lift both the front and rear at the same time?

Feedback request from T4Rs Lifting rear tire (only) with Hi Lift on sliders

This is all sound advice. Thanks for taking the time to write this up despite my questions diverging from the original post. Ultimately I want to be prepared for solo operation, which is the primary objective for me at the moment. I'll be looking into axle repair more now that I'm aware of the...

Feedback request from T4Rs Lifting rear tire (only) with Hi Lift on sliders

So what did I install the prinsu rack on my T4R for? Ha... Yeah I get it. Wish there was a better answer for the fuel but it's not going inside and don't have a back mount. The Hi Lift is on the roof too :-/ But no other significant weight. Do you keep a CV joint on your trips too?

Does a choke block require 2 wheel chocks or 4? Not sure I'm clear what this is. Do you have a recommended Jack Stand for off road use? I'm typically on loose dirt and rocks. Seems like most jack stands are terrible for off road with 4 skinny legs. Which is why I like my Bottle/jack stand that...

Feedback request from T4Rs Lifting rear tire (only) with Hi Lift on sliders

Good tips. Thanks Okki. I think my backup method for rear tire will become Hi Lift with lift mate then use the jack stands. I'll check out harbor freight, although I've been a bit reluctant to go there for things that might involve my personal safety.. ha ha... After all this, perhaps my...

Feedback request from T4Rs Lifting rear tire (only) with Hi Lift on sliders

Thanks for the tips. I've been cognizant of weight and avoided some things for now such as steel bumpers. My recovery gear seems to take the most weight so far, but my cooler is a monster. Probably weighs 120 pounds loaded. I'll also be putting 10 gallons of fuel on the roof. It's hard to know...

We went on the unpaved roads in the rental anyhow. Drove that thing like it was the runner. I clearly wasn't alone as the thing was beat to heck.

Where are the Hawaiians on this forum? Another hypothesis I had for the Hawaiian phenomena is because it's closer to Japan? Lower transport rate on the 4Runners (since assembled in Japan)? That wouldn't answer the mail for the Tacos though since those are assembled in the US. :reddance:
