    Oil analysis help

I've been using M1 0w40 FS for years with great analysis results in the 4.7. It's a low weight 40 and generally shears down a little. As others have said, double check your air intake, something may be loose or ???

    What's your mileage and age?

2007 Limited V8 with a little over 86k. I'm the second owner. Bought in '13 from a dealer in Vegas with 46700, still under warranty. I drive it less due to getting an '18 Mustang GT PP1 in '19.

What did you do with your 4runner today?

The grill has to come off and there are 8 nuts to remove. Remove old seal and clean the area well. The seal itself is well engineered to install easily. There is a groove marking the center of it so no measuring is needed. It has a peel off backing which is cut at the center. You push the...

What did you do with your 4runner today?

I replaced the "seal" that goes in between the hood and grill. It was really falling apart and vibrating a bit. Would post a pic, but it's not allowing it!

    Windshield molding reversible?

Before I try and remove things, was wondering if the thick side moldings are reversible? Quite a while back, I had the windshield replaced and the installer bent the moldings back and they were never able to go back. I'm thinking they might if reversed. Just to be clear, not switching from...

    All gauges went out!

I ended up getting a unit from Tanin Auto Electronix. Everything is working fine now and the installation was pretty easy with the help of YouTube video detailing our cluster removal. Side note: Do NOT use Griot's glass cleaner on the clear plastic. I didn't read the fine print and it ruined...

    All gauges went out!

I went to another Autozone and had them recheck. I had a bad battery which was replaced for free (don't know why it didn't show bad four days ago). Also asked about putting a load test on the alternator and was told with the new testing meters that its not necessary. I think I'll hit up...

    All gauges went out!

Just went to Autozone and they tested the alternator. Said it was working properly, but they just hooked up their tester to the battery and had the engine turned on. No load testing (head unit was already on, but wasn't asked to turn on lights).:noidea:

    All gauges went out!

Thank you! Can't remember if I saw that issue in my search.

    All gauges went out!

I went to work 3 days ago, all fine barring seeing my A/C temp set at 70...don't remember switching that. 2 days ago, I used the 12V on the console with key set to acc to run an air compressor due to TPMS warning. Didn't drive yesterday. Today, I notice all gauges don't move and the odo is...

    Plumbing - Whole-house repipe

I was just thinking about the tool used for the fitting and installation and it is an expansion tool rather than crimping. The tool is required to be used six times in the end of the pipe before the fitting is attached. Due to the expansion/contraction properties of the pex, it shrinks back...

    Plumbing - Whole-house repipe

I had my whole house replumbed a few years ago with Pex. Also did the under-slab sewer as well since it was in bad shape. The company I used did not recommend using the shark-bite connectors, but the ones that require the crimping six times. Uponor is the company, I believe. More reliable...

Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

Looks good, but I'm surprised you are rubbing with that size. I have Cooper AT3s the same size and nowhere near rubbing.

    Finally! Easy V8 oil change

I haven't changed the oil since I installed the RCI skids and got a helpful tool...a Form-a-Funnel. I already have a Fumoto valve so between all three of these items, the oil change was the easiest I've ever done! And not a single drop of oil on the pavement! I did have to loosen the filter a...

    DIY Engine Splash Shields

I did this a while back, but added a little more around the edges for added strength. Kept the same holes.
