Oil analysis help

I am beginning to become concerned over my oil analysis results and wanted to see if anyone can provide any input or suggestions. My engine has had oil changes done meticulously from new.

Take their advice and check your air filtration system. What air cleaner do you use? Check the entire system for a possible leak.

My UOAs showed high wear metals with Mobil 1.

I switched to Quaker State Full Synthetic 5w/30 and wear metals gradually decreased. As of the 3rd UOA with QS FS 5w/30, my wear metals are now lower than average. Toyota Oil Filter.

Had your 4runner used the Mobil 1 from the very start before switching to the Quaker State? or did you buy your 4runner used without knowing what oil it had been using then first started using the Mobil 1.

I bought it without knowing what oil was used. I used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and Mobil 1 and both oils showed high wear metals. I started getting concerned thinking the previous owner neglected it. Then someone recommended Quaker State Full Synthetic. I was skeptical at first, but the results gradually improved and now I'm getting good results.

From what I hear, and this is just rumor, Mobil isn't as good as they used to be. It's still good oil, but they have been cutting costs and getting by with their reputation and brand recognition.

I notice there are now many different types of Mobil 1 this last time i bought some of the Mobil 1™ Extended Performance High Mileage it ran around $5 more then the Mobil 1 used to buy, both my 98 Nissan Maxima with around 36K and my 08 Toyota 4 runner SR 5 today around 10,200, as you see i don't drive a lot so i now change every two years.
It was good to read your report and thanks for taking the time to write it.

I've been using M1 0w40 FS for years with great analysis results in the 4.7. It's a low weight 40 and generally shears down a little. As others have said, double check your air intake, something may be loose or ???
