A cracked head. The crack was in the 3 cyl running through a valve.

It looks like it may have. I just got in the engine and the balance shaft through a bearing. The balance shaft then destroyed that area. I believe the engine is shot. I'm looking for a good core.

So I replaced the head and a month later got it running only to find that it had a spun bearing, all that work. A rebuild is running around $1500+ and who knew what cheap...

You can get it to stop rattling by hitting it or with a c-clamp. Be easy but you want to squish the body if you know what I mean.

The best way if there is a drain plug, drain the fluid out then refill it and drive it for what ever. Then pull the pan and put a new filter in and refill. Something I also will do is let it drain for a day or two and that will drain out another qt or so.
