I'm pretty sure the clutch is OK. Did a start from a dead stop in 2nd gear up an incline. The engine rattled but it pulled up. As the accuracy of the tach.... it's stock. Can I check it with a timing light or do I need to talk my local mechanic into computerizing it?

Just bought a '95, 6cyl, limited edition, 5 speed, 31 tires. It seems as if it is geared very low. At 60 in 5th gear it tachs at 2800. It feels like it wants another gear. Is this normal? At a first road trip of mostly freeway it got about 18mpg. It has 147K on it. I don't think the...
