40 MPH Up Hill On the Highway

Hey man, I can feel your pain. I live in Park City, Ut. and have to commute to Salt Lake everyday. It is a 30 mile uphill commute on the way back up I-80 UT. You've probably never been here but it about a 4k ft difference between the two. ANYWAYS, my trick to keep at least the speed limit is to...

    Venting!!!!

So I'm trying to become more mechanically inclined these days, aka I own a 73 nova in high school that i worked on with my dad but he did most of the work. So now with my 4runner and living on my own its nice to work on MY car, my 94 t4r v6. I've changed my oil and installed speakers. But today...

    1985 4 runner transmission issue?

No offense, but you might just want to take it to a quality tranny shop, have them crack it open, and rebuild if necessary. Granted, it will cost more than buying a replacement/junk yard part, You will have a perfectly rebuilt tranny with a warranty on it from the shop. You know what I mean?

    Front Bucket Seats

Alright I've got a 94 SR5, and the front leather seats are completely cracked and shitty. I'm looking to replace them with some junk yard ones, assuming I can find ones that are in better condition than the ones that are currently in there. The question that I have is, what year 4Runner seats...

    2nd Gen Audio

Oh I wasn't planning on installing them in that box although I had planned in stashing an amp back there if I went with a sub. I was planning on installig the 6.5s in the spot of the 5.25s. Take the small ones out, and then cut them to size if need be and install them in that space. Or is...

    2nd Gen Audio

Well the install went better than expected to be honest. I did the 2-4" speakers last night. I was hoping to get the rears in as well, but I lack a jigsaw/sawzal(sp). So I'm going to be doing the rest Monday, my next day off. They were really quite easy though, especially being my first install...

    94 audio upgrade

Well, after purchasing the speakers last Thursday, I've actually been able to install them. So I installed the 4" Pioneers today, and not knowing much about car audio, it actually went quite well. There were a total of 4 screws and 1-10mm bolt on the driver side, then the speaker was just held...

    2nd Gen Audio

Hey you were able to install 6x9's in the rear? I started a thread a few weeks back in the regards to the same topic as this thread. I went to best buy and they said that I could 5 1/4 I. The rear but after seeing the rear I went with 6 1/2's instead. Did you mount yours horizontally? And was...

    replacing bumper ends?

There are three pieces on the bumper, left hand cap, right hand cap, and the main rear bumper. I think there are 3 bolts that are holding the bumper to the car, but in order to remove I'm pretty sure you need to remove the mud flaps, as well as the running boards. I bought a new LH bumper cap...

    94 audio upgrade

You said that you put 6" components in the rear. Did you mean 6 1/2" comps in the back? I found that 94's have 5 1/4's in the rear, I'm assuming that the 93's have the same speaker specs. Did you do a custom install on those 6's?

    94 audio upgrade

Alright so I went to best buy just to scope out HU and stuff. Talking with a geek squad guy kinda got me pointing in the direction of upgrading my speakers first to see what that will do before jumping in. I've already taken the back panel off before so I know how to get in to the back there...

    94 audio upgrade

Solike many of the threads out there, I'm looking to upgrade my audio system because 1) current one can't handle ANY bass, and 2) I'm pretty sure the "upgraded" is past it's prime. It has an aux jack but the quality from it is sickening to listen to. Can anyone recommend a nice HU to install and...

    94 4runner a/c

So I bought a 94 and have had it for around 6 months, I've had it in northern Idaho during the winter where obviously the a/c wasn't used. But now that I've since relocated down to southern california, I've noticed how crappy it is. I don't know if it worked well prior to getting down here or...
