So I'm trying to become more mechanically inclined these days, aka I own a 73 nova in high school that i worked on with my dad but he did most of the work. So now with my 4runner and living on my own its nice to work on MY car, my 94 t4r v6. I've changed my oil and installed speakers. But today I figured that since I didn't know if someone changed the fuel filter and it has 135k on it that it should be done. Got the filter off, and out fine, but seriously wtf were these engineers thinking... lets put a filter behind the cross member, thats runs parallel to the parking brake cable, and what looks like a sway bar (no idea what it is). I had the filter out in about 20 minutes, including finding it. I spent the next 3 hours trying to reconnect the damn fuel lines!!!! omfg so frustrating, I got one on, then the other would catch a few threads and then pop out. Thought maybe it they gave me the wrong one, so I undid the one I had and then got the other in, so it was the right one.
Then I couldn't get the one I just undid one, same situation as before.
All the while thinking to myself, hey I'll never have to replace this thing again!!!
At least I got it back on and the car running, no leaks
