That sounds like a possible solution. I've also heard you can unplug the motor itself by going into the fender but there's a bunch of those black one-time-use clips to get through so I don't know if there's a trick to working with those or not.

That same car wash also ripped my 4Runner emblem off the back of the truck. I recovered the actual emblem from the car wash, the emblem got split in half and I'm trying to figure out the best way to stick that thing back on. Is there a good product for reattaching emblems to the paint?
