Here's mine. I bought them this way and I think they're black via the simple expedience of a can of spray paint. A more utilitarian look, I think. Your T4R is still in excellent shape. I'd go back with new chrome wheels myself or maybe black with some chrome trim pieces.

Yeah, I decided on the brute-force option last night. It's pretty good but not perfect. I also loosened the bolts holding the brackets to the car's underside and pulled forward - that bought a little movement forward. That's wierd, by the way. 1500 pounds of frame and the bumper is screwed...

Unfortunately, I notice it every time I walk around the rear. The big place it's noticable is where the bumper wraps to the tire well - it doesn't line up anymore.

I was just on K&N's website. Their big 4Runner High-flow filter replacement kit has published dyno results of only a 3.3HP increase. Small potatoes for the money in my opinion. They don't have dyno results for the drop-in variety but I would expect less than the high-flow replacement.
