Anyone ever get crap stuck behind your water pump pulley?

I switch the belt and pulleys on my V6 this past summer. All was good till about a week ago when I started hearing a bad grinding and rattling noise. I used my stethescope and narrowed it down to the WP pulley. I removed the belt and pulley and sure enough there was a stone behind it. At 166k i...

Use the ucam app that comes on the unit to use the dvr feature. It works perfectly. Fm reception is not as good now, even with everything connected propperly. Unit is holding up perfectly so far, bluetooth calling and music is great. I dont use the gps often, I still tend to use my phone and...

Breaking bolts while removing skid plates

The welds broke on the nuts in the frame for the ones that are spinning. Grind the heads off or use a cut off wheel. Drill out the broken bolts. The metal is soft so a good drill but makes quick work of the job. Do not use an "easy out"! Once you drill out the bolts use a punch and hammer to...

    Gates idler pulley bushing

Just an update for those who undertake this in the future. Putting the spacer in the back worked but the belt rode very close the the edge. I remounted the pulleys with the spacer on the front and did not reuse the large washer since the new bearings are sealed. The belt alignment is much better...

The ones on the radiator support took a lot of persuasion bit I got them all out and put m8 rivnuts in using the bolt and nut method. Replaced the bolts with grade 8 flange bolts and applied anti seize. Good as new and all the...

How to purposely break off a weldnut?

I drilled out some broken skid plate bolts in order to retap. I butchered one on the trans skid. I drilled through the side of it somehow. Its the front, driver side, weldnut on the trans skid and there is a nice access hole right next to it. I want to break the whole weld nut off and install an...

Ordered a "Plug and Play" Android headunit

I'm not sure what topo maps are, but if it runs on android it should work. Bluetooth works for playing music and phone calls, but not to surf the web. I use a macro app on my phone to automatically connect to my wifi hotspot when my bluetooth connection is detected. So when I get in my car it...

Ordered a "Plug and Play" Android headunit

Mines about 7" viewing area. The unit is a hair over 200mm wide. Its fits the stock opening perfectly because its designed specifically for toyota. A standard double din unit requires a faceplate kit to fill the gaps in the stock opening.
