Valve cover gaskets, new radiator. Got the green crap out of the cooling system and put Toyota Red in. Engine looks perfect after doing valves, no buildup at all. Just turned 238k today.

Just bought a 97 Runner with 235k miles. No idea on maintenance history. My question is, since I haven't a clue if the engine has had conventional or synthetic oil, what should I start using? I've heard you can have issues when putting synthetic in a vehicle that's only run conventional...

Wow...that's insane. Definitely think I'll swap out the solenoids, though I think it's odd I'm getting that code when I'm having zero trans problems. Could I also just do a drain and fill after replacing the solenoids?

Had a couple quick questions about some things on my 97 SR5 I just purchased. 1. I only receieved one key, and no fob. I've tracked down an OEM fob from a 97 Limited, I'm assuming I could reprogram it to fit mine, correct? 2. My side mirror adjustment only works for the left mirror, doesn't...

Holy shit. I read a post about you having tranny issues at around 350k I believe, throwing the fun P0773 code. How did you go about fixing that, did you swap in a new trans? I just picked up a 97 with a mere 230k on her, she shifts like butter but I can't get that damn code to clear. Cheers
