I want to permenantly disable the CEL on my 1995 runner I know why it is light up (faulty knock sensor) causing the timing to retard, my mechanic bumped the timing up and it's been running great for 4 years.. it's strictly an offroad hunting truck, not registered and stays on private property...

I took my truck out over the weekend with the timing advanced. Ran GREAT, WAY more power. Climbed some steep stuff, amazing difference. The truck is not "fast" on the freeway but it rocks off road.

I have an 87 4runner I need to get some work down on and it's not street legal. It's running and all 4 tires are good. Just need to tow it about 10 miles and could tow it at 35-45 MPH It has an automatic transmission. THoughts?
