Already replaced that and also tried swapping them. Putting a new spark plug in seems to fix it. Are you thinking the coil pack is causing the spark plug to go bad?

My engine has coil packs. I have already changed those out as well.

I have a 2000 4 cylinder and the #2 cylinder spark plugs keep failing. I get about 1500 miles out of the plug and then I get really bad hesitation around 2,000 RPM. I switch out the plug and it works fine after that. Only happens in the one cylinder. Any ideas? I have replaced the seals around...

Is it necessary to put black silicone on the front of the engine where the pieces of metal come together? I saw on a video that someone did this and wondering if it is necessary? I know it takes 24 hours for the silicone to cure and I will need to drive the truck tomorrow morning. Any ideas?

Looks like this was the cause. Those gaskets are shot.

maybe I will replace the seals and see if that helps. The hesitation happened yesterday but hasn't happened since. It always rears it's ugly head at the worst times.

I swapped out all the coils about 3 months after getting the truck. When it started again I only swapped out cylinder one coil and that fixed it until now. I have not seen a engine light yet. When I do, I bet it will be the same coil. My friend just reminded me of some oil being at the top of...

Do you think it would be an issue if I switched out the one that failed to OEM and keep the others that have not been having an issue?

The ones I bought were from O'reily autoparts. I guess i will try the OEM ones and see if it helps.

Went to the auto parts store and asked for the coil and plugs from 2004 Tacoma. Worked perfectly. still trying to figure out if this is the original engine but at least it is running now.
