    NZ 4Runner

Today I decided to sell the 2nd gen. The dog and I took it for a good run in the country on Saturday afternoon, then I took the 3rd gen out to my brothers place about 40 mins out of town that evening, I have a sentimental attachment to the old car but logic says im not going to use it as the...

I had a look in the 3rd gen folder, but at the moment mine is being treated very nicely with no modifications so im not looking again in case I get too many ideas! but the 2nd gen is going to be played with more now it isnt my Dd, having said that I want to keep it fairly original and not...

So I bought the 3rd gen which is stunning to drive, but I wasnt impressed with the headlights so the 100/90s and the plug in headlight loom out got robbed from the 2nd gen, so it now has 60/55s which arent so bright, but probably more in keeping with the loom and switch gear, and probably about...

A couple of weeks ago I put new springs in the back to get the wagon back to level, result is reduced vibration and much better ride as the springs are stiffer than standard but not too harsh, it is nice not to have loads of body roll. I nearly traded it in on a 97 Prado SWB until i was looking...

This weekend was oil and filter change time, nothing special in that, but it reminded me - does anyone have any clever ways to stop oil running down the block and over everything when taking the filter off a 22r? I always put rags there but they never seem to catch it all. Kiwi 4Runner

What did you do with your classic T4R today?

I bought an h4 coversion harness from Thailand I think A couple of the connectors weren't well crimped so I soldered them. The original hi/ lo beam switch coped for 20 years so I did ok! We dont have headlight dimming in NZ, just off/low beam / high beam is it for daytime running lights? Kiwi...

I was thinking today about other modifications I have done on the 4Runner. When it was a few years old I put Hella semi sealed headlights in it with 100/90 bulbs which improved the ligjt output as the original ones were hopeless. Jump forward 20+ years and I decided that the lights were still...

Meet my SR5 22r 4Runner. I bought it early 2014, it is my second 4Runner. I had a 1992 2.8 deisel SR for 10 great years and after 100,000km sold it at 300000 km as I wanted an 80 series Landcruiser which was vey nice, but too expensive to run - should have kept the 4Runner. My parents bought...

    Heavy Shaking in 2nd Gen

I have just put in new rear springs after months of messing about with wheel balancing, new UJs, drive shaft balancing and new gearbox mount. The shaking is gone. If your 4Runner has sagged and you have run out of options, Id suggest chexking your driveshaft angles, sorry I dont have a before...

    Heavy Shaking in 2nd Gen

It seems mine is too far the other way due to the sagged springs, if I measure the angle then jack the car to what I think is the correct height the combined angle is less. Kiwi 4Runner
