This is exactly what I did. I'm 6'5" and extended mine about 2 inches...the only downside is it can't go forward as far, but my fiance is tall enough to still drive it comfortably.

Well, it appears to be a dirty MAF sensor. I had my mechanic hook up his scanner and he got back some erratic readings on the MAF. He cleaned it up real good and hasn't' happened the last 3 trips. So, fingers crossed!

Tac welding the mount to the frame is the way to go. After loosening up for the third time while heading up Imogene Pass in CO, I stopped by the local shop and he tac welded the mounts...many miles and many trails later, I've had no issues!

Have you done any wheeling with them in? Just curious because I'm about to drive 4,000+ miles in 8 days and do a bunch of wheeling and I'm wondering if they will stay tight.

The first time around, it sounded like someone under my car beating on it with hammer...they were really loose. But there's no noise now, just some play when I turn them. Maybe a few more turns with a wrench and we'll be good to go. Let me know if they have any solutions.
