When I say it "thuds" I dont mean it is a loud thud. It is just a harder sound than the normal shift and yes I comepletly agree, I am sure its because of the big rpm drop.

Thanks for all the input guys. Good to know that I am not alone in this. I always assumed it just needed to warm up but it just kept doing it and kept doing it so it has started to worry me. I didnt want to make anything worse if it was starting to go out.
