I suppose this is true, but as far as I know Toyota/Lexus there are no timing chain issues and will last the life of the vehicle.

The timing chain is supposed to be lifetime, so if it needs to be replaced it's because the manufacturer used shitty parts or bad design.

Pretty sure AISIN and Denso make like 90% of components on all Toyota's LOL

You can do either one. On the Techstream under the "Engine" tab next to the DTC there should be a little "snowflake" symbol and that is Freeze Frame Data which will tell you what the data list was reading when the CEL came on which helps with diag.

With oil leaks, always start from the top and work your way down (read: gravity). If it's coming from the top passenger side front area, it's possible you may have rolled the camshaft seal when installing it. Rolled cam seals leak oil pretty heavily so that would honestly be the first place that...

Thanks man, it definitely doesn't hurt lol. I've never owned a 4runner before or even worked on them, but they are very similar to other vehicle's I've worked on before.

Thank you! GX470 is a great vehicle. Essentially just a Lexus version of the V8 4Runner. Reliable engines that are easy to work on. Suspension is pretty easy too. If you want offroad capability as well as luxury, go for it!
