I went whole hog and replaced them all last week including the shifter seat and oil deflector. It seemed well worth the effort while in there, and for the peace of mind it was. Not to mention I found that the shifter seat was completely disintegrated once I dug deeper.

Flexplate and Starter Taking a mid day breather from a trans pull to replace the flexplate. The starter plunger didn't retract and resulted in catastrophic failure of the starter and broke the teeth off of the flexplate over a 4" area. At least it happened in the driveway, too bad it's not...
