Well that's really my question. If I try to cross water higher than 27 inches will I automatically suck water into the air intake, or is there a way to cross water higher than 27 inches and still avoid that. In other words, what happens after 27 inches? When do I guarantee myself a problem...

As I understand it, 4th Gens can ford water that is 27 inches high. So what will happen if I try to cross water higher than that? Will I instantly do serious damage to the vehicle, or am I simply running a greater risk of damage. I'm thinking in terms of some sort of an emergency situation...

Don't know if anyone saw 24 tonight, but CTU Director Bill Buchanan apparently drives a 4th generation 4Runner. It was definitely a Limited 4WD. It was dark, but it looked like Titatnium Metallic. :-) Dan
