    Pop-Up Conversion

Anyone seen or heard of anyone that already has or has a pop-up conversion in the works? I know theyre fairly popular on the various LCs especially in other countries, but they do seem to be somewhat popular here on Wranglers and even on the Honda Element. This would be the ideal setup for me...

    Trading in the 4Runner..

Be careful with those Chevy airbags, especially offroad. Probably want to look into which fuses to pull before you even think of taking it off the pavement. https://youtu.be/U6b_93QZ2fM?t=283 https://jalopnik.com/chevrolet-colorado-side-curtain-airbags-keep-deploying-1828951213

Why are the V1 5th Gen Trails so rare?

The biggest thing is definitely the total number of units sold. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/231430-official-5th-gen-4runner-sales-thread-12.html This thread has kept the data for each month of the 5th gen sales, as well as previous gens. At the current rate, they will sell...

    New BlackVue Dash Cam

I was able to route the cable through the A-pillar as in your first pic, you can wedge it under it against the windshield, however once you get to the bottom, there really is nowhere to go. At that point it would have just been easier to remove the cover from the beginning anyways. The airbag...

Definitely sounds like a motor. Are there any other motors besides the CD player?

    KDSS Long term reliability?

Since people are mentioning nose dive, I noticed something interesting with KDSS locked in the open position. Significantly increased nose dive. I really was not expecting this, and it has me questioning exactly what KDSS is doing as well. Even at very low speeds bumper to bumper traffic...

    KDSS Long term reliability?

I'm not guaranteeing there will be no issues down the road, that is why I claimed to be a tester. The suspension system isn't a single part. KDSS is a glorified sway bar system, it doesn't affect the shocks, or the springs, and the springs and the shocks are the same in a KDSS equipped as well...

    KDSS Long term reliability?

As discovered in another thread, a switch or even disconnecting the fuse seems to lock KDSS into the high speed setting. A switch wired in to the module on the frame would potentially work, but I honestly don't know if I see a reason to. I don't plan on reconnecting it any time in the future...

    KDSS Long term reliability?

Update to my previous post. With the KDSS module disconnected I took the 4R on a mild trail with a few moderate washouts. This is where I've seen by far the largest improvement in ride quality. I was actually amazed how much smoother the ride was over a hard packed surface with quite large...

    KDSS Long term reliability?

Looks like I'm joining the testers. As of this afternoon I've disconnected the module on the driver's side of the frame, taped it up thoroughly and took it for a test drive. First thing I noticed was the heavier steering feel. Others noticed something similar in the thread below. There is...

    KDSS Long term reliability?

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/220221-only-kdss-w-lift-need-apply-4.html#post2374362 The OP in this thread disconnected the module which seemed to leave it in a permanently 'open' position...

Best single KDSS-compatible suspension option for slight lift, soft ride

That is the thing, I don't want a 'buttery stock ride', the stock ride is harsh. Its harsh on E rated KO2s, and it was harsh on the stock Duellers at 32 PSI. I understand if you jack it up 3+ inches there isn't much you can do about a firmer ride, but surely a small lift/level or even keeping...

Best single KDSS-compatible suspension option for slight lift, soft ride

So would the current consensus be that Kings are the single best option for a soft ride with a slight lift? Is there a specific spring/coil combo or just King all the way around King everything?
