Yep. the stock sub is disconnected, it turned out, that the problem was with the sub itself, so I returned it and got a pair of infinity 10" subs. It is sounding really sweet now. Thanks for your help.

I have exactly the same problem with my 12" MTX sub, although RAP sounds OKish, but when I put some trance or house (which I listen most of the time) it sounds just too terrible...gain is turned down almost to nothing, but I still can get clean bass. Yeah...it makes it a little better but its still bad. Gain is set very low too. Im just wondering if installing crossovers would make any difference?
