Dealing with distortion

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to ask what did you do to get rid of the sound distorion. I have installed a 1200w sub and a 12' sub to the factory 10 speaker system (2003 Limited). The only problem I have now is the rattling sound thats coming from inside and the licence plate area.

Sounds like you are talking about a lot of rattling versus distortion. The only way to minimize rattle is too go through the entire truck and make sure everything is secured down, and then if it still persist material such as Dynomat would be the next choice. However this is pretty expensive.
If you are talikng about distortion in the sound comming from the sub, then you might have to much power running to a single sub, Box is too small or to big, and gains might be up to high. Also did you disconnect the factory 10" sub? If they are both running then the problem is with the 10" sub.

Yep. the stock sub is disconnected, it turned out, that the problem was with the sub itself, so I returned it and got a pair of infinity 10" subs. It is sounding really sweet now. Thanks for your help.
